
Nora Frank-Buckner
Nez Perce and Klamath, Director of Food Sovereignty
Nora is an enrolled member of the Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho and a direct descendant of the Klamath Tribes of Southern Oregon. With over a decade of experience in public health and chronic disease prevention, she has dedicated her career to advancing food sovereignty and improving access to fresh, nutritious, and traditional foods in Tribal communities.
She specializes in strategic planning, coalition-building, and systems thinking, developing and facilitating networks that drive regional food sovereignty efforts. A skilled leader in health promotion, she has presented at tribal, regional, and national levels and is certified in the Technology of Participation (ToP) Facilitation Methods. Nora holds a Master of Public Health in Health Management and Policy from Portland State University and Oregon Health & Science University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Oregon State University. Through collaboration and culturally rooted strategies, she continues to empower Indigenous communities in reclaiming food systems.
